Wet ride today (9/29). Up the monon until someone wants to turn around. Meet between noon and 1 pm. Raincoat might make it more pleasant but you are going to get wet. Starbucks on the circle.

June 27th Ride

Today's ride was not posted but we still had a great turnout of five riders with the temperatures reaching the mid 90's. We began the ride at Calvin Fletcher Coffee company and then headed north on the Monon. Once we hit 86th street we took our normal break at Starbucks before continuing to the end and back. The total miles road were 40.5 mile with a time of 2 hours and 11 minutes.Well, look forward to more post about local rides soon to come and until then Live, Ride and be Fruitful to Life!

Calvin Fletcher Coffee Company

This is the best coffee shop in Indianapolis and is located at 647 Virgina Ave just north of Fountain Square. It is the officially sanctioned coffee shop of the velonauts. The staff is awesome and the coffee is great too.

So we have been a little lazy lately posting rides. I promise to do a better job from now on. We ride every weekend and usually both saturday and sunday. Some rides are hard and others are easy. Many of us regularly ride fixed gear but we do not discriminate against road bikes. Degree of difficulty can be determined by distance so as long as you are in good enough shape to complete the ride, you will not be dropped. Actually, we dont drop anyone but if the ride is too long for your levle of conditioning, you might be uncomfortable. So, stop by onec in a while and join us for a ride.

Throw Down Thursday at the velodrome will have 3 velonaut riders, Hustin Jeffers, Chris Nurnberger and yours truly, Brian Stone will be racing. Come on out and Join us.

Monon ride. leave calvin fletcher coffee shop around noon or maybe a little later. to the top o the monon and back (of course). fixed gear only unless you want to ride a geared bike. Rain or shine. It's gonna be hot.

Fort Ben Graduation Ride!

We are holding a 2012 Graduation ride for our dear friend Brian Stone, He just graduated with his Masters form Uof I. We will being holding a ride from the circle Starbucks at 1pm Sunday the 6th. This ride will mainly be off roads on green ways or bike lanes. Its a 40 mile loop including dinner at a great little Mexican place in Irvington  so bring some money because you will be hungry... Hope to see every one at 1!

Saturday the 18th we will be hosting a ride from Indianapolis to Nashville Indiana. We will leave Calvin Fletcher coffee Shop at 8am. Dress warm with the option of shedding clothes. We will stop for lunch in Nashville at the Basement cafe, We should be back in Indianapolis by 3pm. Hope to see a big turn out!

We just got home and it's really crappy out. looked at the weather forecast and tomorrow does not look much better. The ride is off.

10 am we roll from cf. Heading to hubbard and cravens (6 miles) and beyond.  The high is 30 so balaclavas are reccommended. Hope to see you there.

1-2-2012 Mayor Ballard's Polar Bear Pedal

Come one come all to the Polar Bear Pedal! This is a 12.2 bike ride, presented by BGI, to celebrate the connectivity of Indy's bicycle trails. It starts downtown at the BGI bike hub, breaks for hot chocolate at Major Taylor's Velodrome, and finishes back at the bike hub downtown. This is sure to be a fun and friendly event and best of all - it's free! Onsite registration begins at 10am and the ride commences at 11am on 1/2/2012.

12-31 Ride!

We had a great ride today! Nice cool ride up the Monon trail to H.C. Sophia and I met Eric there and also ran into Eric N and Hank. From H.C. we headed to Broad Ripple and then back to Downtown. Hope to see more of you next week.
